WBC Small Group Study Notes

Our resource library includes a series of notes for study in small groups, to help our spiritual growth and development.

The notes are accompanied by our own DVD series of video introductions (not available online).

These have been originated within WBC for the encouragement and blessing of the WBC congregation - but we make them available here for wider use in the extension of God's kingdom.

If you find any of the resources helpful, do send an e-mail and let us know.

Forgotten God

Forgotten God

Our midweek DVD studies for small groups on the theme:
"Forgotten God"
The series is based on material by Francis Chan, popular author and powerful communicator.
He reminds us of the true source of the church's power - the Holy Spirit. He says that we've ignored the Spirit for far too long, and that without Him we operate in our own strength - accomplishing only human-sized results.

The small group studies use the DVD series
that accompanies Francis Chan's book,
"Forgotten God"

Hard Sayings of Jesus

Study Notes

"On hearing it (the teaching of Jesus), many of his disciples said “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?"
(John 6:60 )

Salt losing its saltiness
Forgiveness
Predestination
Envy and God’s generosity
Faith that moves mountains

A look at some of the tough statements of Jesus that can be hard to understand - and then when we do understand them, they can be hard to put into practice.

The midweek series will be supplemented by the messages each Sunday morning, where we will unpack another five of the hard sayings of Jesus.

Journeying Together in Community

Study Notes

A study series following the experience of the Israelites on their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. We can learn many lessons from this account for our journey together in community as the church family of WBC.

God is the God of plans and purposes. He calls us to journey together into the future, so often ’unknown’ to us but clearly ‘known’ to him.

Our prayer is that we would get to know God in deeper ways as a result of our journey together during the course of this series.
