Special Notices

Try to make a special effort to visit the FAIRTRADE shop at 88 The Street, Kennington during FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT 22nd February to 7th March. The theme of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight is “The Big Swap”. The idea is to encourage people to swap from their usual product to a Fairtrade alternative.

The funeral service for JEAN SMITH will be held at Charing Crematorium on Tuesday February 23rd at 2.00pm, followed by refreshments in Natters at 3pm.

REVIEW OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ACTIVITIES The project to review the activities we undertake as a church with children (0-11) and their families is now underway. The project team members are: Keith & Sheila Gwilym, Jill Humphreys, Roger Whiteley, Amanda Hughes, Phil Annand, Patsy Ayathurai, David Rowe and Doreen Button. The first phase of the project is to speak to all those who work in the church with children of 0-11 years. If you are in that group, a member of the project team will arrange to talk to you to get your views on a range of issues. In parallel with that we are holding a focus group of all those parents in the church who have children in the 0 – 11 age group but are not a leader/helper in any of the activities the church runs for them. Roger will be leading this focus group in Natters immediately after the service on Sunday 28th February. Grab a cup of coffee and please come along to get your views included. Children welcome! It is important that we get as many perspectives on what we do as possible. Watch this space for the next phase.

THE SOURCE – Open to God 6.30pm, February 28th  - the first day of our week’s focus at The Source – the church family of WBC meeting together to focus on God and to listen to Him. There is a box in the vestibule for any written feedback during or following our week of spiritual focus. Items can also be sent by email to the-source@wbc-ashford.org.uk

The next CHURCH MEETING for members is on Tuesday March 23rd. If you would like to know more about being a CHURCH MEMBER, please see Alan or one of the Elders.
