God is the Source

WBC is a growing God-centred community.

God is at the heart, the centre, of our vision and direction as a church. He is the focal point of our spiritual growth and development.

Our Father God is the Source, he is "the fountain of life" (Psalm 36:9).

When we come to The Source, we come to him - to put him first, at the centre, in his rightful place. We draw on all the resources he puts at our disposal, and we are filled, refreshed, empowered, equipped, sustained.

In working out our mission as a church, we need to draw on these resources - we cannot go forward in our own strength and ability. To realise our vision therefore, we must come first to the one who is the only Source of all that we need. We must receive his strength for the tasks ahead - both individually and as a church.

Coming to the Source

We come to the Source as a church in a very practical way. We set aside the first Sunday evening and the third Wednesday evening of every month as a corporate time of spiritual renewal - we intentionally focus on all that God is and all that he has for us.

This is not just about attending meetings, it's about taking time to come before God in earnest. These gatherings are times of community - they are only loosely structured, informal and open to God's leading and direction.

Our spiritual focus at The Source is to magnify and glorify him, to share his word together, to listen to him, to reflect and meditate on all that he reveals to us, to declare our commitment to him, to express the gifts he gives us, to bring our prayers to him, to testify and encourage one another with his faithfulness, to minister to each other as he prompts us.

As we do this, and as we hear from him, we are led and guided in our way forward as a church - to extend the kingdom of God in Willesborough and Ashford in the way he has appointed.

We draw on all the resources he puts at our disposal. This is for the spiritual growth of the church as a whole, to equip us for mission, and to develop the maturity of our personal walk with God.

Coming to The Source in 2012
